MIN 526 GCU Political Science Integrity for Community Integrity Project


Integrity in ministry extends beyond the walls of the church. Paul concluded his qualifications for ministry leaders with the following words: “Moreover, [an overseer] must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into the snare of the devil” (1 Tim. 3:7 [ESV]). As ministry leaders serve their broader community in the name of Christ, they must seek to conduct themselves and their ministries with integrity.

conduct two interviews with the leaders identified in Topic 2, as approved by your instructor, which are the following:

  • Leaders will be of two different community ministries outside of the local church.
  • These community ministry leaders do not have to be full-time, paid staff members of the organization, but they should be leaders in an area of ministry that is outside of the local church.
  • Examples of a leader of community ministry (outside of the local church) include, but are not limited to, the following: food services, clothing services, recovery support group services, shelter services, counseling services, or medical services. If you would like to interview someone that does not fall into one of these categories, communicate with your instructor for guidance and approval.

Part One: Interview

For each interview, select three to five questions from the question bank, “Community Ministry Interview Questions” document. With approval your instructor, additional questions about integrity in community ministry can be used for the interview.

Ideally, the questions should be sent to the interviewees two days prior to the interview so that they can give some thought to their responses in advance of the interview.

Conduct the interview and record the interviewee’s responses and any additional observations you may have.

Part Two: Summary

Using the Turabian template found in the Student Success Center, write a summary of your interviews with each of the leaders of a community ministry, with the following:


 summarize who interviewees are, including their positions and responsibilities.

Provide a brief introduction where you supply the basic details of your paper and the purpose statement of the paper.

  • Supply a clear thesis statement, identifying the overall direction and assertion supported within your research, evaluation and analysis, and final recommendation.
  • Offer a clear, concise summary of the sections of your paper.

Summary of Responses

 thoughtfully summarize the responses to the questions asked in each of the interviews. This should be a synthesis of the interview. This should not be a transcript of the interview questions and responses.

Future Application
evaluate how the responses from the interviews can be applied to your future ministry, with specific details.


 do the following:

  • Briefly restate the thesis and the ways the paper goes about supporting the thesis.
  • Briefly summarize the key points within the summary of responses and future application sections of the paper.
